John Certalic

In addition to hosting and producing the You Were Made for This podcast, John is the executive director and co-founder of Caring for Others, a missionary care ministry. Along with training, counseling, and debriefing work with cross-cultural workers, John has trained lay counselors and taught pastoral care seminars and workshops for churches and mission organizations on five continents.

He formerly taught in the public schools for 7+ years, worked as an executive recruiter, started a business he ran for 24 years, wrote and published an industry newsletter, and authored an award-winning book.

John also formed and led a mastermind group for pastors, which ran for four years. It was a place for pastors to discuss ministry and personal issues in a safe and confidential setting where they benefited from their peers' collective experience and Godly wisdom.

Furthermore, he is the author of THEM – The Richer Life Found in Caring for Others. Writer’s Digest Magazine awarded it the “Best Inspirational Book of 2016.”

John has an M.S. in Counseling and is a certified trauma counselor. He has two grown children, four grandchildren, and lives in New Berlin, Wisconsin with his wife, Janet.
