In today’s episode of You Were Made forThis I begin by talking about how my in-laws introduced me to the custom of “Christmas in July.”

They would host festive Christmas in July parties for their friends in their basement rec room, complete with all the trappings of Christmas. A fully decorated tree, gifts (the white elephant variety), plenty of laughter, and lots of food.

I don’t have a party for you today, but I do have a story to share that took place last Christmas that I’ve saved until now. It’s about kindness and generosity. It’s my Christmas in July story.

I could have told you the story last December. But I thought we could use a reminder in July of our virtues that often bubble up to the surface at Christmas. The story shows us what we’re capable of.

Plus, there’s a really funny story within a story near the end.
